## 🌱 1. Plant Your Wallet

Your journey begins with **xPortal**.

xPortal is your wallet and one of the easiest ways to enter the MultiversX ecosystem.

#### Create your wallet

1. Download the official xPortal application.
2. Create a new wallet.
3. Follow the security setup.
4. Back up your recovery/secret phrase securely.
5. Never share it with anyone.

## ⚡ 2. Enter MultiversX

Your xPortal wallet is now your gateway into MultiversX.

#### The simple version

**xPortal** → your wallet

**EGLD** → MultiversX's native asset

**MultiversX** → the blockchain

**dApps** → applications you can interact with

**$OLV** → Olive Grove's ecosystem token

**NFT** → your digital collectible

EGLD is used as the native asset of MultiversX for network fees, security and other ecosystem functions.

#### Get your first EGLD

You can acquire EGLD through supported on-ramp/exchange options and transfer it to your xPortal wallet. MultiversX provides an official guide to getting EGLD.

**Keep some EGLD in your wallet.**

You'll need it for transaction fees when interacting with the ecosystem.

Now the journey reaches the Olive Grove.

**$OLV is the native token of the Olive Grove ecosystem.**

To participate in the Grove's DeFi utilities, you'll first need some $OLV.

Visit the official JEX platform and connect your xPortal wallet.

Enter the amount you want to swap and review the transaction before confirming it in xPortal.

#### Before you confirm

Check:

* Amount of EGLD
* Amount of $OLV received
* Exchange rate
* Price impact
* Slippage / minimum received
* Transaction fee

#### What is a liquidity pool?

A liquidity pool allows users to deposit assets into a trading pool so other users can swap between them.

In return, liquidity providers may receive rewards and/or a share of trading fees, depending on the pool's mechanics.

#### Why does liquidity matter?

A healthy market needs buyers **and** sellers.

Liquidity helps create the environment where users can enter and exit positions more efficiently.

Depending on the specific pool, you may provide liquidity using $OLV paired with another asset.

Before depositing:

**Check the current pool composition, rewards, fees and risks.**

#### ⚠️ Understand impermanent loss

Providing liquidity is not the same as simply holding your tokens.

If the relative prices of the assets in the pool change significantly, your final holdings can differ from what you would have had by simply holding the assets.

#### The idea is simple

Staking rewards can change over time and depend on the specific pool's rules.
